I've recently started using Facebook ads to promote my website. Facebook reported thirteen clicks yesterday but I'm not seeing Facebook in my Analytics traffic sources. I picked up 10 likes on Facebook yesterday so I have no reason to doubt they are sending me traffic. Why can't I find it in Analytics?
Are the 'likes' are going to the Facebook page, not your site? If so, there's no reason to assume that they automatically go from there to your site, and they're clearly not if your tracking package doesn't report them
Few things are taken into account that from where the traffic is moving on. Is the traffic going on to your fan page from your fb profile or your fb profile to your website. Analyze the behaviour of visitor on facebook. GA tracks the facebook as a reffering site if there is any visit came from that. @magda is rightly said that fan page on the facebook so it doesn't show in your analytics of site. This same thing is also happend with me also when bit.ly short url service is showing that 18 people clicked on your link but it is not showing in my Google analytics. But visitor coming from my profile site link is showing that twitter is a reffering site but not bit.ly short url. So sometimes we can not fully confident on only google anaytics .
If you ever use a shortening service that gives you more data than bit.ly you will see one thing very clearly - MOST hits from twitter are bots. That's what Google isn't recording. Google records human visitors who call up the page. I've said it before and I'll say it again and again, resist the temptation to think that GA is wrong because it gives you a lower number than other ways of measuring visitors, because that lower number is much more likely to be the correct one.
