How do I setup the following scenario:
    • User registers at my site.
    • They arrive at the homepage with a message saying that the registration was successful.

I want to record this in Analytics as a goal or whatever the term is.
But how do I do this seeing the "goal" page is a common page like Homepage.

Simply go to the goal section of Analytics. Then look for it there and you should be able to figure it out.

    hi,

Just Go in Goal section and add your site and in place of URL place Your thanks url.

    Thanks

If the dilemma is that the homepage and the completed registration page are the same page, but everyone who arrives at the homepage hasn't necessarily completed the registration, then you could use event tracking to monitor registrations, rather than the page they go to.
Though frankly, a more commonsense approach would be to have a completely separate "thanks for registering" page
