An unusual multi domain problem

    Hi

Can anyone give me some advice on the following problem.

I have several domains registered all of which are set as an alias to the main site (so there is only one host of the site for the numerous domains) e.g. domain1, domain2 domain3.

Up until a few months ago the google results showed only the main domain1 in its results. Then one day it changed to show domain2 in its results (replacing domain1).

Lately I’ve found that google displays results from at least three of the domains (e.g. it displays domain1/gomepage then domain2/prices then domain3/contact).

I’ve done some link building all of which have domain1 as the link. The other domains have no links to them anywhere on the web.

Now I’m about to have more links created for the site I’m not sure as to which domain to use. I don't want to build up links to host1 for only for google to change which of my domains it lists in the future.

I’m tempted to rehost the other 2 sites on their own so that I can then tell google to ignore these 2 sites so that I can avoid being penalised for duplicate content.

Can anyone shed some light on why google has started indexing the other domains and give any suggestions as to what I should do to sort it out?

    Cheers!

WOW! No responses to this? Where's all the Gurus?...lol

Anyway, I definitely don't know, but I'm going to do a little bit of research for you to see what I can come up with..

But, what it looks like now though is that you should go with the domain that has your targeted keywords in it. Regardless of the age or whether or not it has any backlinks pointing to it. Google tends to give more relevancy to those particular domains...

    I'll be back...

    google isnt doing anything wrong.
as you have those domains hooked with a hosting as alias and google found them, they are getting indexed as usual.
you are hurting your main domain this way.

a best approach would be making a small site with one page possible for those additional domains and use .htaccess or something to make 301 redirect to your main domain for all page requests that come to those additional domains.
