An SEO fish up????

Okay on your main domain you have a site about flowers and on a sub-domain you have a site about cars. Is there a problem with this for SEO in terms of the main domain??

To cut the long story short, I created a sub-domain for the purposes of practising me skill, but this site is now a fully functional site. However I am now ready to develop the main site which has nothing to do with the sub-domain, is this a disaster?

Nope - don't interlink them and they will be treated as different sites.

No problem from SEO point of view but you have to promote both main and sub-domain individually for getting traffic and rankings.

    ...then:

My subdomain is 80% developed, PR2

My maindomain is not linked to the subdomain. It is NOT developed and is only one page, but some how has been given PR2 also. How?

I have another page running off teh maindomin and it now has PR1, how?

    No SEO done for maindomain!

I would grab a separate domain. You can redirect if you've already started a link building and traffic campaign.

....can you please expand on the above.

So you are saying abanon my main domain, get a new domain and just do a 301 redirect from the old one?

    Why?

I'm suggesting you get a new domain for the car site, instead of it being a subdomain on an unrelated domain. Personally, I prefer to keep separate websites separate.
