Darren Rowse, the Problogger has just made his post sharing his concerns about Amazon. I think this is a good reference for us to understand some things about Amazon. Here is his recent blog post - An Open Letter to the Amazon Associates Program
interesting post... dude making 70k over 5 yrs with amazon and noting about the payment methods for overseas affiliates. interesting
I would suspect Amazon is going to run its affiliate program the way that works best for them. He compares Amazon to other affiliate programs and I doubt many have Amazons sheer numbers behind them. I do not see the frustration involved with signing a check and depositing it in the bank.... To be honest it seems to me, someone who supposedly makes so much money blogging, cannot manage his finances correctly..... boo hoo... lets all cry together.....because honestly he forgets life could be a whole lot worse...... some people....
Amazon does seem to miss the "little things" that could make life easier for associates and gain them some good will. Quite awhile ago I suggested to them that they provide for "alias" store names to be associated with the associate-id. This would make reporting for associates with multiple store much more meaningful. I can't imagine it would be much to program this feature. Got a canned "thank you for contacting us" note, but nothing more. Still, Amazon is a good program and I appreciate the moderate monthly income I receive.
