Hi, On every forum the Forum Views are increased only when some "Members" view the forums, but on my forum at www.smsbucket.com/forums it is increasing even any guest is viewing the forums. Can anyone please tell me how can I stop it increasing only for the guests? Thanks
You use phpbb3 and you allowed the guests to view your forum. Allow just register users to see the forums and see if the guests make views... But if you make this you block google, yahoo, and other bots to view your forum. I dont know if this is the right awnser, but you may try.
That will make the forum kinda unavailable for guests, They can't read any thread. I just want that guests should see the forums but their VIEWING should not increase the forum views, it should only increase when any "member" views the thread. Anybody else can help me with that?
I am checking it by logging in with my id on forum and in other browser I am browsing as guest. When I read any thread as a "guest" the forum view increased which I don't want.
on every forum. Take this as example http://www.smsbucket.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=6 Now view those threads and see the forum views will increase. Since you will see the threads as guest, it should not increase the views. Do you know how to do it?
Not sure about how to help, but I don't think there's such an option yet. Why not ask the PHPBB support?
No, you are not getting my point. I don't want my forum to be invisible to guests. I just want to stop the "Forum Views Counter" for guests. It should only increase the view count when a "member" views the thread, otherwise not.
Oh :| I want that link where you see that the view dont increase from the guest visits. (Other forum)
I don't have any link where I see the view don't increase for guests, if I had that link what was the reason to create this thread?
http://www.devside.net/articles/phpbb Found something that might prove helpful, you need to scroll down to view the portion.
