This is your forum and this is not a democracy, but putting aside the fact u dont like the idea of a global DP, dont u think that an international section will increase dramastically a website PageRanking, impressions, backlinks, etc and then a website will worth a lot of more?

Have you ever wondered why any big website try to establish international as well? because they know more users mean better reputation and more money, and that if they are late, the market is gone. Example, in Japan we dont have Ebay, another company started first while Ebay had its a great idea but didnt try it abroad right away. Blogger is not even famous in China, another company dominates the blog sector. And Google had to spend billions of dollars to enter in a partnership with Baidu.com because they also werent smart enough to enter fast in such a big market. Spanish in the US is a big market, just visit California, Florida or New York to find a lot of business focused to this huge population.

There are few forums who are truly international but i think one should be more visionary, and to go the way to cash in more. After all who doesnt like money? Why would u want that a forum in Spanish, German, etc start receiving all the attention (money) that you could be making? After all, you have already positioned yourself in the english market. Im sure you can hire very cheap a few people to translate the few things neccessary, and you have more than enough members to give it a try. You wont slip your bilingual members, you will attract monolingual members into DP.

to the guy talking about china, China doesnt have a big bilingual population. Latinamerican, India and Europe do, thats why you dont have chinese members. Think why, before to post.

Anyway my 5 cents. maybe because i do speak many languages, and i have traveled more than 64 countries (i have also lived more than 5 years abroad) I can tell that an international section or to translate my websites in many languages is as a plus to gain more audience and increase the $$ value of my websites. :=)

Dont wait for ur customers to learn english to get their money ; )

I personally as a webmaster/forum owner would not be comfortable with an area on my server for which I could not even read.

PR, impressions and back links are already very high. As far as valuation of the site, I don't care because it's not for sale.

    No, not really.

This forum is not a money making scheme (it never was), so...

I live in Southern California (right against the Mexican border), and I don't see them around me.

See above (this forum is not about making money). This forum is about supporting the users of my tools/products, everything else is secondary, and making money from this forum is the least important thing.

Right... if I was trying to increase the value/income of this website, then it would be more of a possibility.

Ultimately the bottom line is that things start to get rather confusing when you have threads that some people can't read (more importantly threads that mods/admins can't read).

I think that we have taken enough of Shawn's time. Lets not forget why this forum was created and the intended purpose. If people are really stuck on creating a spanish/hinde/chineese/whatever forum, the possibilty exist for anyone to register such a domain (SEOWORLD.es , SEOWORLD.in, SEOWORLD.cn or whatever) and for under $500 have a forum just like this up and running in a matter of days. Hows that for "DEMOCRACY" ?

Lets put this to rest and close this thread.
