Do you believe that God has calmed down with his wrath or do you believe that God's wrath in the past is equally as prevalent today? For example God rained down fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah but if we commit an act of sodomy today would God be as angry at us? Is God's wrath in the past an example of how exactly he will react in ferocity to us today? Do you think that it was the early days of man and God was so critical at us, kind of like wanting things to go just right so much that it frustrated God so much when it didn't and that God has stepped back a little bit since then and is giving man a little breathing room, sort of speak.
I think he has given up and waiting for planet X to strike earth, and then he can try recreating few new species
You obviously didn't read his questions. which is why instead of answering it you posted a fatuous 200 year old argument from design fallacy. I think what happened is that 2000 (or 5000) people were pretty stupid generally and accredited natural and probably localised catastrophes as global acts of god. 2000 years ago it would be easy for things like the China earthquake, The new Orleans flooding and the Burma cyclone to be seen as punishment from god. We still have just as many catastrophes, We just understand their cause a lot better and don't have to accredit them to a supernatural agent and imagine his reasons for doing it.
I appreciate the discussions and debates of intelligent design but for the purpose of this thread we should assume that God exists and is able to control the weather and other things in order to exert his wrath.
G-d is very angry about this thread. Why did you start this insanity?! Now he will punish webmasters everywhere!! I hope you're happy.
God punished my blog for participating in this thread. I made 10 cents less today than I did yesterday... I believe God's wrath is coming soon. The human civilization as we know it, and take for granted, would soon be destroyed.
I just checked my blog, and in G-d's great wisdom, he has decided to give me your money. Praise be and hallelujah!
Do you think his wrath will be a specific wrath? In other words, would God be wrathful because of "typical known sins" or would his focus be on things that he was not wrathful at from before (such as his wrath described in the Bible).
Look at it this way, If natural disasters are gods "wrath" it's a bit pathetic to do some indiscriminate shaking of the earth or some random flooding. I mean really, What sort of petty imbecile is this god? If i was god i would just pick up the people who needed punishing and throw them into the sun, Not drag innocent children into it with stupid indiscriminate weather punishments.
This is not a questioning if God exists thread, its a thread about how would God treat us for our transgressions.
and i answered your question. god would not drown babies for someone else's wrong-doings. sorry if you don't like the answer, but that's just tough. if you want to believe that your god would drawn babies just because they happened to stand in-between him and someone he wanted to punish (no doubt a gay) then you need to ask some serious questions regarding your gods state of mind, His morality and his "love". if that is your god then he is absolutely the most vile, vindictive, egotistical, disgusting piece of shit in all fiction. Is that your god?
I remember a line by a famous author, which states, "Every Child is born with the message that God is not yet discouraged of man". If God was really pissed off, then no new babies would ever be born, and the human race would go extinct within 100 years, maybe even less, considering the economic implications of such a disaster. Maybe God is punishing people who have done no crimes. Look at Africa. These people suffered hundreds of years of slavery, and even today, face extreme poverty, malnutrition, genocide, hunger deaths, incurable diseases.. all bad things. Maybe Africa is the Hell Testing Lab, where God tests all the newest gadgets He'll be using in Hell. P.S. I am not an atheist or agnostic. But sometimes, I just feel very bad at the state of affairs on this planet.
