An interesting doubt!

I always had a doubt how Adsense will know if the site we apply with is truly ours.

I mean, when we apply for Google Adsense, we are asked to input the URL of our website. My doubt is, how will Google know it is ours?
What will happen if i simply type the URL of a good website, that isnt currently using Google Adsense ?

The reporting stats will only show if you have the code on your own pages.

well....my doubt was when we apply for Google Adsense.
How will Google know that it is our own website, when we apply ?(This is when no codes has been added to our site)

I know that google will be able to know it is our site, when we inserted the Adsense codes, but what if I apply with a site that is not even mine and hasnt used Adsense ? How will google know ?

Why would you use someone elses website to apply for adsense?

You can't add your code to the pages, so you couldnt report or earn anything, so why bother?

I think he was saying that... if he applied for Adsense using site "A" (not his) to get accepted and put the code into site "B" (his) instead.

Instead of spending so much time trying to find a sneaky way into adsense, why don't you just spend the time building a good website?

well....i had built the website : www.myspacegraphicsworld.com, but when I was about to apply for Adsense, my friend told me, Adsense will reject Myspace sites . I was horrified at that, so i was just thinking when i came upon this. :)

hmm...will Adsense really accept Myspace sites ? :(

hi ! thx for all ur replies.....id just like to know one more thing.....if google rejects a website of ours, because they think it does not have enuf content, can we apply again with the same website, when better content has been added, or will Google reject all new applications from the same(once rejected) site ?

I don't see why adsense wouldn't accept MySpace related sites. But if you want to play it safe, Tweety's advice is pretty good.

It's obvious ofcourse if the site is yours or not.

    1. if the site you use to apply has already adsense on it, if ofcourse an obvious sign that the site you send is not yours.

    2. even if you'll use different site than yours in applying, it will still end up to banning if you'll use the code in sites not acceptable to the Adsense policies.

Google accepts Myspace related sites, they just don't accept Myspace sites. Since your site is about Myspace, but not a Myspace site, there is no problems with it. ;)

in spite of what VS said, if you want to apply using someone else's site, then put it in your own site, you can. as long as your site is within compliance, you'd be alright.

but i don't see the point though. why climb in through the chimney when the front door's open?

If ur site is rejected due to lack of content .. ,you can apply again with the same domain i think

You certainly can apply again, in fact, Google even encourages you to reapply (after you've solved the issues).
