Hers is an Idea I have. I'm generally pretty good at writing HONEST content that's usually inspired by reading, watching TV or strolling around town. I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper. Most of my writing is never used because my websites aren't geared to that market, they generally live in my notebooks only to be lost, forgotten and/or never edited. Do you think is would be a great Idea to start a blog or website where I can post all the content I write while including a PayPal button for someone to purchase the article(s)? As soon as the article would be purchased I would remove the page (blog post) Let me be straight up these articles wouldn't sell for $5, I was generally thinking about $10 up to ? What would you guys and girls pay for a original QUALITY honest article? (please include word count etc in your suggestions)
Asking writers what they'd pay for writer probably won't get you worthwhile answers (this forum is for writers). I don't know what an "honest" article is and words like "quality" that are used as a sole qualifier of content turn me off as a buyer. Might as well say "quality is job one" while you're at it. By "honest" content, do you mean that your content isn't ripped off? As far selling your content, there are many ways to go. You could could put your stuff on a site along with a cart, PayPal, etc. Whether or not it's a good idea and whether or not it will work depends solely on you. But, it can't be any worse than not having your content up for sale anywhere. I've sold PLR articles for $5 each, so I don't consider $5 - $10 for an exclusive article to be the equivalent to climbing Mt. Everest.
By honest I mean that is not slapped together with no thought or motivation involved. Ill probably give it a shot, It can't hurt. Thanks.
Why not try marketing your content at a serious outlet like Mochila? I've often wondered why so many quality writers bother trying to compete with the $2 article crowd that hangs out here, at GAF etc. http://mochila.com/ Frank
Ill check them out. I'm not a copywriter by trade so I am not aware of these sites, I am new to copy but I know I write very well when my mind, focus, and effort are put into it. It was just an idea I threw out there. Thanks Frank.
If you would like to sell your articles through your blog, you can anytime use Paypal's "Buy Now" button. Go to Paypal page and copy the link button; afterwhich, embed it into your blog entry. You can also use stand alone script to do this for you, scripts that use Paypal IPN.
why not keep your articles for gaining traffic to a site or for adsense it would seem to be more profitable if you are getting allot of traffic
Honestly, nothing. Here is the deal - create new websites or blogs to put your unique content onto the web and monetize it that way.
I had the same idea ThoughtPunk. I hadn't thought of it as a blog though. This is a major problem that I am trying to figure out. How do I format the website so it brings sales yet protects against copyright. I was also trying to figure out a way to make only one copy downloadable so that I could give full rights with the purchase. I thought if I did the site with all of the text availabe per entry, I would just be inviting people to copy the content without paying. On the other hand if no sample is made available no one is will be motivated to buy the content. You have given me a great idea with the blog. Thank you very much.
I think you're opening yourself up to people who will take advantage of you. Too many folks will just rip your content, and then it will be worthless to your buyers.
after reading all the suggestions, I think is best to do article marketing with the articles. thanks everyone.
Just to quickly add --- to place an original article on a blog or website and then to take it off once it's purchased is a very risky thing to do. For one, you cannot be 100% sure that no one has copied it and placed it on their own site. Secondly, once an article is posted on the Internet, it will be "crawled" by the search engine spiders and even if you take the article off, it will still have traces of it online.
Try a website like Constant-content or Daily article to put up your work, or even Helium. That way you get saved the effort of creating a website and your content does not get stolen easily.
