hi ppl iam quite new to this link development , As all of know that PR of a site cannot be taken for granted , they change as n when google updates . the issue here is that based the present day PR value of the site we do lots of link sales/buying . For example i but permanent links on PR6 site and after the update that site becomes PR2 ,n worst it becomes PR0 then wat happens to my invesment ? this is an very important issue of concern , as lots of $$$$ are invested in this area (i wish if this thread is also put in link sales section where its all happening)
what happens to my invesment Maybe lead you money loss. But I think it's like a stock ,maybe changed in the Number. If the website still have the same visitor , the value will lost.
You lose money! That is why it is best NOT to buy a permanent link; I only do link sales one year out as so much can change during that time. What happens when the site is sold? Do you think the new owner will keep your link permanently without some sort of compensation? I doubt that.
The best thing to do when you're trying to get a backlink from a high PR site , is to go for a determined period of time , PR updates occur almost once every 3 months . Buying them this way , will help you get out of a loose situation . From my point of view , the pest period of time to go when you're trying to obtain a high PR link is 4 months . PR updates sometimes take longer , due to the high number of websites there are .
i agree with that but can the seller be hold responsible for loosing the PR , can a refund be asked from him in that case ?
It depends , you're not going to sign any legal contract or any other document of that kind , so you've got no legal proof of the trade that went between you too . It depends more on the person , if he is willing to assume responsibility for his deeds and honor his part of the deal . Or , he is going to flee with the money . If you are planning on investing large amounts of money in buying links , consider first to make some sort of legal document to testify the deal that went between you and the seller .
I don't see how a seller of links can be held responsible unless they fraudulently led you to believe that PR would remain up. In that case you believed an obvious error -- no one can say for certain what their PageRank will be. As far as asking for a refund (or adjustment) go ahead.
