Hello all, and please don't diss this thread until you have read the whole thing :)

I would like to help out DP and while doing that help myself out to! So I was talking to a trusted member here on DP and she suggested this to me. ( SO ITS NOT MY FAULT! ) She suggested that I make like video tutorials for webmasters and make them easy to follow for beginners, this way people can learn what I already know!

I have been doing web work for over 8 years and I believe have a decent understanding and background of what it takes!

I had two ideas for this project and I want you all to vote on what you think is best!

    1. Small 5-20 Minute Videos On Common Design, Coding And HTML!
In this method I would create simple videos on how to code the image tag, how to design the image, how to use slices in photoshop and code those in HTML. Just basic stuff that requires little to no watching time!

    2. Complete 100% On Screen Projects Beginning To End!
This one would be really cool, basically I would start a project like lets say... A Vbulletin Skin, I would design it all on screen non stop until it was designed and coded into VB fully! Could be over 1-2 hours long, but through it you would get to see the mistakes and problems that arise and how a webmaster figures them out all on screen! This could be really useful as it covers even the problems that happen to all of us!

Make Your Vote Now! As I am excited about this project!

Idea 1 because I just don't like paying attention to one thing longer than a certain amount of time.

Well thanks all for your opinions, but I am going to need more to make a true decision about this. Please take a moment to vote if your reading this thread!

Just as a side note, idea 2 would be thurough and infact would teach more. It just takes longer as the mistakes are not edited out. I am sure its not possible to make no mistakes so..

I like idea 2 but instead of one 1 hour video make four 15 minute segments. You could also use youtube for your videos.

The short simple tutorials are good but a dime a dozen these days.
    We need more in-depth tutorials.

That is my thoughts to IM5202

IMO a longer indepth series of tuts that leave nothing out of the proccess would be a key to beginners success. I wish I had that when I started 8 or so years ago. But I dont want to put the time into that if people are really not into that! Thats why I started this poll! Thanks all and keep the votes coming!

I think a series of in depth videos about skinning would be a great idea.

If you split it up into sections it may become more interesting rather than watching the same video for 2 hours it won't become so repetitive.

I would definately watch a video on how to skin certain applications and know how to do it well.

Well skinning was just one example, I would also be interested in completely coding a custom PHP script of some sort and such. Just really in depth things is what I was trying to make a point of!
