An Experiment

I put a set of links for my lingerie blog on a page flanked with two adsense skyscrapers.

The CTR is 5x the blog rate....Hmmmm.

The URL is http://www.laceillusions.com/LDimage/links.html which is accessed from text links on http://lingeriedreams.blogspot.com.

It is not a terribly pretty page but its CTR is now 10x the blog's....Hmmmm.

 

It is effective. I guess on your experimental page the lack of scantily clad dolly birds helps too. I like guys myself but even I was distracted by all that pretty lace and gleaming flesh on the blog. Too much of a good thing there, maybe?

 

another thing is the way the google ads mix in with your content .. you use light blue and small fonts for all your content and links, but the google ads have a nice bold and black font ... they draw my eyes ... i bet people land on this page and simply don't know where to go, the ads offer the only real pull.

 

skattabrain, I have the same reaction...The AS really jumps out. I'd love to say I planned it that way....

I can just see Public Service Ads in your blogger site.

 

The PSAs are recent and seem to come and go for no apparent reason.

My sense is that AS is a little bit broken this weekend.

PSA's aren't good. Try using better keyword targeting or more content to your pages.
