    Hi everyone,
I saw something on Google that made me really laugh, although it actually could hurt a business.
The background for my search query on Google was an email from my old uncle he sent to me, trying to warn me about a new virus.
I knew about this virus from last year but wasn't sure if it was an issue again.
    It's the Hallmark Postcard virus.
Anyway, I used Google's latest news option and and searched for "virus+Hallmark Postcard". No new about this virus showed up.
But therefor I found the following adsense ad:

    Hallmark Postcard Virus
100s of Hallmark Postcard Virus Top Brands at Low Prices

www . xxx. com (url modified)

Wanna buy a few? I think I'll pass. LMAO

Looks like it's not always a good, idea trying to beat the crowd.
I'm not too familiar with creating adsense ads, but was always wondering how e.g. Target (one of the biggest Google adsense costumers) could always come up with exactly the products I was searching for and once I got to their site, they actually didn't have it, but at least they got me to visit their website.
So now this website is using the same trick. Is it legal, I mean officially allowed by Google or even offered by Google? Gosh, this would mean you always could have 100% targeted traffic.

    Cheers

No, that's a business plan right there.

They got your attention. They were not looking to get clicks. They just wanted people like you to remember their website name and possibly post it.

Yes it is officially allowed by Google since they provide a placeholder KEYWORDS that is replaced by the actual keywords searched for.
