Hello there people , first let me tell you that i have been watching this forum for a long time now , and i must say is one of the best out there . Second if this thread will be considered spam in any way ( and i swear is not my intention to do that ) , then please delete it .

My name is Mark , and i work for Bivver LTD ( Bivver online marketplace ) . I am responsible for getting feedback from various people about our website . So i would greatly apreciate any help with this .

Bivver is an online marketplace recently created by some ex ebay sellers , that decided to go one step further . Although there are not that many sellers yet , the ratio of sales per item is quite high , which means that we have a progressively increasing buying audience .

So if a kind soul , would have some free time , then please send us a suggestion . Things to improve , things that you would expect to see , what is missing , and in general any kind of feedback .

Soon we will also launch our website blog , and also we will make possible for sellers to import feedback and items automatically from Ebay and other online auctions .

I am here for any questions / suggestions .

    Thank you in advance ,
    Mark

I would suggest some web re-design to make it more appealing to people, you need something like BBB accreditation to earn some trust from users.

A small tip might be helpful, lunch an affiliate program on of the big affiliate networks, there are millions of publisher who can help you drive traffic with the right commission.

Those 2 tips sound interesting . We are indeed starting an affiliate program with really good commisions per lead for publishers .

Maybe even up to 20 % for each lead ( succesful transaction ) .

Nice website. What i'm interested is the advantages you guys have compared with eBay and how to attract sellers? Is it free for sellers to list products?

You should work on the trust worthiness of your site. You don't have an SSL installed, to verify your business. Also, as others have mentioned. BB accreditation can help.

Like the others have said - you need to get your website accredited. You're users need to feel secure using your website. As for the web design - if you're trying to be a eBay alternative you need to be more appealing design wise. Make something easy to use and looks good. That's one of the many things eBay has going for it. It's simplicity and design. Another thing which is going to be a hefty task is building a marketplace full of sellers and buyers that is going to rival that of eBay. I hope you're able to achieve your goals and really be able to take on eBay - we all know that it's time for a better alternative to eBay. Best of luck to you.

Interesting site! I have been looking for a while alternatives to eBay.

You can try differentiation by changing business model and rent out your inventory instead of selling it. You can earn better profits.

A good site offering free ads and no commissions is http://www.hirejungle.co.uk. It worked for me!
