An article was accepted but homepage was not. Does it matter?

One of the first articles I wrote for my web site (nearly two years ago) was finally accepted into a DMOZ category about six months ago. The DMOZ link points to the old article, not to my site home page.

If I have this one link in DMOZ should I even try getting the main homepage URL into it? Or will it just be rejected since I already have the other article link?

    Thanks,
    MaestroC

It really depends. Getting a deeplink from dmoz to an article is really a decent deal. If your site as a whole fits that category, you can try submitting it, but any decent editor would have tried that already.

If your site as a whole fits another category, do submit your site to that category. If your site as a whole is plain uninspired (sorry), build it up to something more interesting first and be happy with that one link.

There's nothing wrong with having an article from your web site listed in dmoz; I'd resubmit the home page again to the best category. The submission might have been lost when the server crashed.
