An Anyone Accept Donations

Say you have a free resource web site. Can you accept donations to it to help defray it's costs?

Also, if you provide an intangible service and leave the cost of the service up to the recipient to decide depending on their means can you then place a donation button on your site? If so as an individual would you have to report taxes on this? Would it still be considered a donation?

    Thanks

    You can certainly accept donations.

You have to report ALL income you receive from your site regardless of where it comes from - it doesn't matter if you call it a donation.
