I know a way to target Adsense to anything you want instead of just the content on your site...for example you could have an article about dog training and make your Adsense ads be targeted to the high paying keyword of your choice...you could even input a list of keywords and have them rotate... You could have it targeted to the search string if your user comes from a search engine, or targeted to the content of the website they are linking from....or to the dynamic content on your page on the fly. Just want to know if this would be interesting to Adsense users out there. BTW - the technique does not infringe the Google TOS
Here's some options you could use: 1. Target to a list of keywords/phrases You can decide what you want to target to, you can make decisions the bot couldn't, knowing the nature of your content and what your users could be interested it, you can target high paying keywords etc. They will rotate with every page impression. 2. You can target to a list of websites Same as above, but instead of using the keywords, it would target to the content on these websites. 3. You can target to the search string if your user comes from a search engine. Users may find you from search engines but your site may not always be what they are looking for, but targeting to their search string, you are sure you are serving ads related to what they want. 4. You can target to the website they have just come from. They linked from some other website, you can target ads to the content they have just come from. 5. You can target to dynamic content. If you have a site where uses post information, you can have ads instantly targeted to what they have just posted. You can target to anything you want, on the fly. ------------------------------ The technique is not meant as a way to spam or abuse the system, its just giving you more control on the ads to better serve your users. I understand it could be frowned upon, but if used properly by a few, it could prove to be profitable. Just asking around to find out if anyone would like to give it a go.
Ideally you could any combination of these on one adsense panel, and normal panels for the others. I would to test this to see if it actually increases revenue. I don't run any profitable adsense campaign, but i think up ideas and develop stuff. So that was why I was asking.
its not technically against the TOS, it doesnt hack the actually code in any way, it just smartly, if you want "exploits" a feature google has itself to make adsense more valuable....so i wouldn't sell a product publicly promoting this, coz yes, it would probably be frowned upon by google...its kind of taking the tracking "into your hands" perhaps more than you are supposed to...but once more, not going against the TOS. So I want to keep this small, if used properly, could be valuable, and not cause any alarm on a wide scale. So im not into adsense, im a programmer, so thought i could offer this as a service on a small scale for a while.
This would be good if possible, but you say via programming, wouldn't this mean editing the JS of the Ad which is against TOS?
I wonder what's your CTR going to be if your article is about dogs and you display ads about lawyers? Also doesn't this technique expose your account at risk?
No it wouldn't, it doesn't touch the google code whatsoever. I also agree this is the most powerful option, and most ethical too. Just giving the visitor what they really want.
That might be a silly way to go. But you might be able to use it in other situations to target a related higher paying niche that a bot designed to work with the whole internet couldn't connect. You have that extra human input now, coming from someone who knows the niche and content more than anyone, thatis: you If it exposes your account, i would say no...because as far as google is concerned, they would never know technically that you are doing it...they would find out if you are reported...which is why i want to keep this small...as long as we use it ethically and don't go over board, no will be reporting you.
I'm sure they check your sites now and then. Not just when you get reported. Well, good luck, I hope it's working well for you
i think is not allowed have a blog about games and show ads about... lawyers using a technique ... beter ask Adsense
It is borderline gray, that's for sure....but like i said, you want to use this to increase your revenue, in other words target the ads to what your visitor is looking for better...and thus make everyone happier. Its not about exploiting high paying keywords with a load of unrelated articles, hoping to convert a few clicks... Visitors don't always want your content, but you can serve them better by using a little knowledge about them that the goolge bot will never have...like what search term got them to your website, or what website they came from. That's how the technique can be powerful.
After all, its oten when they don't primarily want your content that they click on adsense ads...so this makes sense, and should theoretically increase revenue. But only really applying it will tell.
You don't need to "touch" the Google ads to violate the TOS. I'm not 100% sure what you do in order to accomplish your ad-hijacking, but I'm sure it's against the TOS. "Sites showing Google ads should be easy for users to navigate and should not contain excessive pop-ups. AdSense code may not be altered, nor may standard ad behavior be manipulated in any way that is not explicitly permitted by Google." There's another clause somewhere in the TOS that gets a bit more specific about ad manipulation, but I just woke up and don't feel like finding that specific part. I'd stay away! Not worth it, IMO.
Yeah, it is risky I guess. Not for the faint of heart But there are rules and there are rules...a lot of the TOS is bent, and has been bent for long, not all laws can be enforced...as long as you don't abuse it, in my opinion it should be fine.
But what is it? I wish I could find out more about it other then "what it can do." Exactly what are you talking about. Do you have it running on a site we can check?
