Hi, Anyone tried Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds affiliate program? I got 13 sales in 2-months, but each and every one has fallen through. I smell fish. Anyone had a similar experience? Tressie
Be careful promoting such programs in the United States and check within your area about the legality and risk involved!
I don't think they're too worried about where they ship to. It seems up to the individual whether they want to risk it. The same thing applies in my case with the aff pages I guess. I'll give it a month I think. If nothing happens by then, then I'll cut my losses and withdraw the risk. I'm sure the pages are going to be illegal where I am. Everything is!
i think your helping the dope man... I'd seriously re-consider pushing something like that (no pun intended). More then likely the majority of sales are not going to match up with the shipping address, so that company could consider that a "bad lead". I'd go elsewhere...
Thanks very much for the input donepoppedup. I acknowlege that there's a serious moral issue here, but I'm more interested in the integrity of an affiliate program. I hope you can see where I'm coming from
Not saying this means anything. You'll have to come to your own conclusions. I tried out the order mechanism at Amsterdam Marijuana seeds for myself. Relying on the 12-month cookie I went straight to their site and entered 2 incomplete orders. One I paid with a credit card number, the other I promised to send a bank payment. These are the orders that are showing up in the accounting area and falling through if someone doesn't enter a correct CC number, or doesn't send the bank payment. Neither order even showed up in the accounting figures. Okay, maybe the cookie doesn't work. I clicked through one of my aff pages and ordered by CC again. Nothing! Okay, the cookies are screwed. Deleted all of them and did the click through CC order again. Nothing in the accounting a fourth time! I don't know how that sounds to you, but I'm starting to get suspicious here. I think the change in my signature line says more that I can at this point.
How many more red flags do you need? -Illegal product -Doesn't pay -Cookies don't track -Did I mention illegal product? Time to move on...there are plenty of legitimate programs out there.
Thanks for letting me bounce this whole thing off you guy's. I contacted AMS and mentioned that the orders I placed weren't being accounted for. They replied, then I placed 4 more orders and they worked fine! I had 1200 pages of links to the experimental aff pages to raise their PR, and was promoting them by other means. I pulled the 1200 inlinks. The pages can just sit there and rot in the bowels of supplementary hell. Thanks guy's.
...and the second you chuck in the towel, you get 2 orders approved and feel all good again. Conclusion: AMS is no scam, but they sure have a low CR in my case. What an effort!
Back in the good ol days we would put seeds in the ground and they would grow plants that would grow buds in the fall. I miss those days.
