I heard that the Google Crawler can only crawl up to 100 links on a single page? Meaning any more then 100 links on a page will not get crawled. Is this true and if its not 100 is there an estimated number of links it stops at? Thanks
Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100). source:http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35769
I'm no authority on this, but IMO google may see pages with over 100 links on it as have less value per link. Think of it like a pie. So it's more a matter of "Do I want fewer links that are given more value by Google, or do I want a lot of links that are given less?" The more links, the harder it is going to be for a user to find the site they want, therefore google simply must hold less value per link on the page.
