Hello, When I first tried google adwords, I only had a handful of keywords, and My CTR was about 2%, and I was able to spend about $35 a day. I was making about 425%-480% return on my money I was spending, so obviously I wanted to spend more. I did alot of research and I created about 6 different targeted campaigns for select keyword groups with different ad variations. While when I was spending $35 at first with only maybe 15 keywords, I now have probably 5-700, and I am stuggling to spend $8/day. My Question is, am I penalized for having too many keywords? Or could the drop in searches for my keywords really be that dramatic that I go from spending max $40/day with 15 keywords to spending average of $5/day with several hundred. RJ
just checked back after dinner, no replies, anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? I'd really apprciate it.
Don't really understand your question.. But for sure there is no penalties for having lots of keywords G will be happy- more keywords--> more money you will spend.
Some of my ads have 1800 keywords in each ad group - because I have over 40000 keywords total in the whole campagin, they're long-tailed and rarely clicked, but when it is clicked, the ROI is pretty high. You can fill it up to a max of 2000 keywords, their sytem can handle it
Long-tailed targeting key words do cost less and generate less traffic per keyword. The max I spent on these key words are $0.20, but often they cost only $0.10. One of my ad group: 58 pages near 1800 keywords: http:// i7.tinypic.com/6lj3rpf.jpg
well i'm just saying that, when i only had 15 keywords to start with, i was spending about $40 a day, now that i have a ton of long tailed keywords and other miscellaneous ones, i only spend like $3.50 a day.... it sure was alot nicer when i was spending more.
