Dude America doesn't have to help anybody if they don't want to, nor do I expect Americans to help.

My point is that you choose whom to 'help', and who is you. Countries like Myanmar have needed help since forever, but the only reason why fighter jets aren't being sent there is because they have nothing to offer. Where as in the middle east...

Yeah we choose who to help and whom not to help. That is our right. If you ever contribute money to a charity don't you choose who to help and who not to help. Yes, we look out for our own interests but so does every other country. You don't think Iran is building nuclear weapons because they are bored with nothing to do. It's the way things are. I take absolutely no offense to anyone saying Americans are stupid. Because we Americans know the truth. Jealous people often talk shit about those they are envious of. No brag.....just fact.

 

America is seen as the bully of the world, and honestly, nobody likes you guys. That isn't meant to offend you or anyone, that is just how it is. I personally have no grudge against Americans, I'm just not an American enthusiast.

And I don't think Canada is the best country in the world, nor do I believe that we are any better than Americans.

If nobody likes us then why do we have a problem with illegal immigrants trying to come here. The only people trying to get into Canada are the ones trying to escape the law.

I have nothing against Canadians or any other country in the World. I am a patriot. I would give my life for this country. The only problem I have is people saying we are stupid. If we were stupid we wouldn't be a super power.

I am a Canadian who has the option of dual citizenship if I ever want.

While there are good things about Canada as there are of the United States most people need to look at complete facts before they come to a conclusion about an entire country.

I do not meet an American and immediately come to the conclusion he/she is stupid. It is their behavior that may ultimately lead to that conclusion. I have on occasion met Americans who immediately start bashing other countries and I don't know of another culture that does that. American's are brought up with the mindset they are somehow superior to every other country in the world. If you hear it at home and repeated by the President all of the time, you will eventually believe them. Every time the President is on TV I hear him say, "America is the greatest country in the world." I don't expect him to say anything else. Just as I would expect the President of France to say his country is the best, and our Canadian Prime Minister to say our country is the best.

There is no harm in thinking your country is the greatest in the world, it shows your patriotism. But don't bash other people because they don't think the same way about America or Americans as you do.

When you come to a forum and start insulting the few Canadians that are posting, how does that make you any different from the people you hate who trash talk Americans calling you stupid?

Beauty pageant girls have it right .. what we need the most is world peace.

And, this discussion has really been blown out of proportion. Here's my opinion as far the original subject goes:

Most people saying "Americans are stupid" are trying to be funny. There are very few who say it because they're racist. Either way, this does not mean Americans are any less intelligent than anyone else, and it definitely doesn't give you the right to bash people of other nationalities. This was the reason I talked about slavery in the first place.

Your comment, "If you're not a native English speaker, stop speaking English" is as racist as any comment made against America. I personally have nothing against your country except for its patronizing and exploitative ways. When I say "your country", I don't mean to imply that all hard-working patriotic Americans are Satan's children. I'm only criticizing your government's methods.

And it's not like my ish don't stink... every country's got demons in its closet but the reason people in the Middle East or Asia have grudges against the US is because of George Walker Bush and your government's notoriety as far as foreign policies are concerned. If you ask me, nobody's really jealous of your success. In fact, the more successful you are, the better the foreign exchange rates for people like me who deal with American clientele (I'm a selfish mofo).

One other thing I'm not sure you've noticed... All those on here who've said that "America's the leader" have been Americans. Start a thread about India and you will see plenty of Indians spam the thread about how amazing their country is. My point is that if you believe you're the supreme power, keep it to yourself. Nobody cares. As far as TECHMAN's concerned, people are equal, all countries are equal, America's not the greatest in the world; neither is any other nation.... and Southern rappers suck ass.

So are you saying that all the Iraqi civilians that were killed in the invasion were somehow responsible for the 9/11 attacks? If you ask me, that's about as good an argument as calling Lil' Wayne the best rapper alive.

 

I have a lot of American friends, I work with Americans...I don't think they're stupid, but people like you, constnatly throwing the "I'm better than you because we invented Microsoft/Google" force us to defend ourselves with the negative comments.

America owes a lot to Europe, Asia and Africa, so it's better to start being more respectful towards the peoples that made you great.

Btw, what does the name Sergey Brin tell you? SERGEY...is that an American name?

 

I don't believe we are better than any other nation. This thread was started because of posters stating Americans are stupid. When we bring up the google/microsoft thing it is just to prove we are not stupid. I don't believe any one country is superior to another. I just know that I would not want to live anywhere else in the world. I just want to point out that as a country, like all others, we make good choices and we make bad choices. We are a great country...and because of that I take offense to others that believe we are not.

America is a great country. There's no denying that. In fact, over 70% of my clients are American, and without them, I'd seriously be out of business.

The reason this whole conversation elevated to this level was because of a few insults thrown at non-Americans one pages 1 and 2... after which things got out of hand.
