Its the same in Ireland some people say Dinner then tea and others say lunch then Dinner. My family have Dinner (lunch) then Tea (Dinner).
I was over in the States visiting relative who both are primary (elemantary I think it is called in the states) teachers. One asked me to come along to his school one day and speak to the kids about Scotland as they had just done some Scottish history a few weeks before. I did so and the kids were brilliant and very up on all the things. Afterwards I was taken to the teachers lounge for a cup of coffee. One of the other teachers was very interested in me speaking to her kids as well as they were covering Scottish history in a few months time. I agreed and after another five minutes conversation the teacher said (and I quote): "May I say your English is very good. Where did you learn it? At school?" I thought she was taking the p**s until I saw my cousins face was a red as a beetroot!!! Unfortunately for the teacher she was blonde.
