it is not about understanding the problem,it is about finding solutions.
as far as your concern about why israel should help the palestanians the reason should be obvious.it is to her own benefit to have an economicly strong and democratic palestanian state and this requires money.Israeli help in negotiating this money is necessary because palastanians are too week to be able to demand enough.so it is necessary that israel keep an eye on this issue
Israeli and palestanians have to become partner in peace and this requires goodwill. you have no solution, i am simply pointing out a way that can result what most Israeli and palestanians want. a long lasting peace.

we have tried your military solution for decades. the result is not good it is time to try new things and the best way to go forward is to go with the intention of making it work. we have to support Olmert in trying to reach peace and we must ask him to try his best to get there and support him if he does.

The Palestinians have been fighting a war of attrition since the 1920s.

The PLO has been launching Fedayeen attacks and artillery barrages against Israel and now these attacks have escalated to suicide bombings and daily rocket attacks.

The Charter of Hamas calls for the destruction of Israel. Who is at war with who? The Israelis are only defending themselves.

Would you like to try to explain? I know some of the American politicans share the same interest because of the money they are receiving from Israel lobby but how is it benefiting the country and it's citizens?
Why is it a principle? This is the same country that attacked a US ship and killed it's sailors and it is the same country that was spying on USA, so how is it a principle?
How do you know that USA is fighting Islamic extermists with support of Israel and not BECAUSE of Israel? Why should USA be in this conflict, if it wasn't for it's support of Israel?

He's a broken record repeating the same tune endlessly about aid going to Israel (seems like it ain't whining about anything else which dwarfs this item that even provides ROI.) He'd also like to believe that by ignoring everything outside of his back yard everything would remain the same.

Israeli lobby is not unique at all there are a lot of different group of citizens that lobby the government on behalf of foreign interests. Irish Americans and Cuban Americans are example of that on the successful side
arabs and palestanians have failed miserably in gaining any support for their cause but this has a lot to do with their inability to convey a positive message. and mostly because of miscalculation on their part.
to try to blame israel for this is not realistic
again these arguments are all counter productive and all efforts must be made
to break this cycle of argument and change the mood to a partnership against extremism and violence in all its shape and form

 

If this is the case, then get on the phone and call your friends at Hamas to let them know that deliberately targeting defenseless, uninvolved civilians isn't helping the image. Training your women and children to walk into a school with an explosives belt and opening fire on innocent children cannot be justified and would qualify as "extremism" (yet you seem to somehow justify it and gworld is there with you cracking jokes and pulling out his wallet.)

I've seen broadcasts of what is listed below - many have and it's not a secret. I haven't bothered with other sources but you and I both know it's not necessary as it's pretty simple. Perhaps you may want to send it to Hamas and inform them of this "challenge." Maybe they can start rounding up these clerics and their followers and incarcerate them and also provide you with a handwritten apology so we can kick start the peace process. It's that simple.

Palestinian television: Suicide is most glorious death of all
Sheikh hails martyred corpse with 'no head, body burned, fingers gone'

JERUSALEM -- Death by carrying out a suicide operation is one of the most glorious ways to die and is rewarded with eternal paradise and 72 dark-eyed virgins, according to a religious instruction broadcast last week on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' state-run television.

The lesson, delivered by a PA religious cleric, instructed Palestinians to strive for a violent death in which the martyred corpse has "no head, no legs, his body completely burned . . . intestines outside, fingers . . . gone."

"Oh God, bring us back [to earth] to be killed by the Apache. Bring us back so that the planes will blow us up, that our heads will be cut off from the body,'' proclaimed Sheik Imad Hamato on official PA television run by Abbas' Fatah party.

According to a translation by Palestinian Media Watch Hamato urged Palestinians to die in jihad.

"There is one thing that causes Allah to elevate his worshipper 100 levels in Paradise, and each level is like the space between heaven and earth. And what is this thing, Allah's prophet [Muhammad] It's the Jihad for Allah. Jihad for Allah."

The Palestinian sheikh uses Islamic doctrine to justify suicide terrorism. Citing the Hadith, or Islamic oral tradition, Hamoto compares a friend of Muhammad who was killed accidentally using his own sword to the perpetrator of a suicide bombing.

"[According to the] Hadith: One of the Prophet Muhammad's good friends was preparing a bow and arrow when his own sword struck him and killed him? Is he considered a Shahid or not? Did he commit suicide? It's like the conflict today! One who exploded with a bomb. People talk about whether or not he's a Shahid."

"They said: 'The man died from his own weapon, and not from the weapon of the enemy.' Answered Prophet Muhammad: 'He died in an attempt to be a holy warrior? And his reward for that was doubled?'"

Homato explains Allah blesses the "first blood" of the suicide bomber, who "sees his place in paradise, is shielded from the great shock and marries 72 dark-eyed maidens."

He says proper suicide bombers understand disfiguring their bodies as a result of an attack is the "most wished for" fate of all.

"A man, when he sees one of his brothers being killed for Allah, those we consider Shahids for Allah, he sees [for example] a person with no head, no legs, his body completely burned. Yes? Intestines outside, fingers are gone, it's a difficult image. The most difficult thing which we fear is what the Shahids wish for most of all."

Homato's speech in which religious status and the reward of 72 virgins is granted to the suicide bomber is commonplace on Palestinian television and among terror organization in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Hamas' official charter uses interpretations of the Quran to justify suicide operations and calls for the murder of Jews to "hasten the day of judgment."

In a recent interview with the senior leadership of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the declared "military wing" of Abbas' Fatah party, overall Brigades leader Ala Senakreh called suicide terrorism "not violence. It is jihad for Allah."

"There is no greater way of leaving this earth than to martyr yourself while killing Jews," Senakreh said. "Allah elevates this martyr in paradise for his special [operation.]"

Not supporting Israel is very simple. Stop paying for arms that Israel is using. Do not sell any arms to Israel or any Arab countries in that area as long as there is a conflict. Tell Israel that they are on their own if they start a war with other countries and you will not save their ass if they are losing. Stop vetoing every resolution that is against Israel in the UN.
