The Muslim outrage on this thread shows they haven't the first clue as to what Journalism is supposed to be. Education people. The job of a journalist is to deliver news in an unbiased manor. Obviously journalists have their own personal opinions, and those opinions sometimes come through in the stories they deliver. When most Americans find those views offensive, the reporter is part of the white house press corps, and the reporter makes those views painfully public, it is very difficult for the public to imagine she can be unbiased in her reporting and a retirement in shame is in order. Thomas, of Lebanese descent, made a statement that was the equivalent of saying, all the blacks need to go back to Africa. Good riddance to racists I say.

 

When is the government putting her on trial? I am confused by bringing free speech into this, did the government do something to Ms. Thomas.

We have freedom of speech. However, there are some limitations with regard to hate speech. Helen is a racist. She's a hateful person who has shown her true colors and as a result was probably asked to leave her post. Had she made the same comment about Obama and said that he "and all blacks should go home - to Africa", there'd be just as much, if not more fall out.

Here in the US our right to free speech ends when it infringes on the rights or liberties of another.

 

1) If she said the same bullshit about Muslims she would also have been encouraged to leave. Then received death threats.

2) She has freedom of speech - she can say what she likes without going to jail, being stoned, etc.
