I agree, the story isn't about you. The story was important, but you decided to make the thread about you instead.

No need to backpedal on something that wasn't accurate in the first place. Carry on ;)

There's nothing to come back to.

Why? You are doing a pretty good job of making my point.

Please re-read GTech's posts. You will clearly see that you are incorrect.

Reread your first post in this thread, Will. Then come back and report on what is or is not correct.

ccole, it now seems that you failed to read the entire thread.

    How very disappointing.

Perhaps we will all chip in and buy you reading lessons.

You say that you have read the entire thread. You may even believe that you have read the entire thread. However, your posts clearly show that you have failed to comprehend significant portions of the thread.

The cause of this is unkown. Are you too blinded by hatred to be able to reason clearly? Or are you perhaps as stupid as you appear to be? Or is it possible that are you merely trolling the forum?

It is likely that we will never know, because it appears that you yourself do not know.

Actually ccole, GTech was merely pointing out the gaping factual "innacuracies" in your post. A post which had no purpose other than to attempt to make a personal attack on myself.

Crazy Rob is about as left as you can get -- and even he noted that GTech had set you straight:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=739837&postcount=17

Really, you seem terribly upset. You seem to ruin every thread with your constant temper tantrums. Perhaps you should take some time off from DP? Surely there are nice single girls in Canada who can help you take your mind off of your troubles?

It's not really that we mind talking about you, but if all we are going to do is talk about you then perhaps you should create an "All about ccole" thread and quit derailing every other thread by dragging it onto that topic.

You begin this thread with this post.

And you accuse ME of hatred and failing to read something properly before commenting on it???

You've provided me with my first good laugh of the day, Will. Thank you.

Yes, and it does appear that you are guilty on both counts.

You are as guilty of irrational hatred as the Canadian who made the statements I quoted in the first post of this thread.

You are two peas in a pod, two symptoms of the same rot.

You weasel around, trying to find minor inconsistencies to help you to avoid the obvious conclusion, but you are foiled even in that endeavor.

You deny his hatred as you deny your own burning hatred -- all the while venting your relentless rage into this very topic. With each post, you make your position less believable.

Now, please be off with your crazy rhetoric. We have talked enough about you and it would be very nice for us to get back to the topic at hand -- WHICH IS NOT YOU.

    Nice headline.

I haven't read the whole thread and have no desire to - just the initial post. Talk about yellow journalism and misinformation...

First, I live in Canada and I don't see any evidence of "Canadians blaming America". The Canadians in question went there on their own, knowing the risks, and got taken. Anything I've see in the media up here has focused (1) on the dangers of traveling in many parts of the world these days, (2) that it was something the Canadian believed in and he was aware of the risk, and (3) the ferocity and "barbarian" nature of some of the radicals in Iraq and Al Qaeda.

    Other points:

    1. the rescue team wasn't just Americans but included operatives from several countries including Canada working together

    2. Canadian forces and operatives have been in Iraq since the very beginning, whether the armed forces are officially there or not; they have also been an active part of the Afghanistan campaign from the very beginning, including after some Americans killed some of our military personnel in that friendly fire incident

    3. reports up here indicate that the American was likely shot in an escape attempt

Heya Minstrel, I was wondering if my favorite Canadian would pop into the thread. :)

We Americans have nothing against Canadians, we just wish that our goodwill would be more reciprocal.

Hey, Canada gave us Bryan Adams, Paul Schaeffer, Celine Dion, and Dan Akroyd.

I'm just wondering if Canada would be willing to take back ccole, gworld, argyle, and the dumbass spokesman who make the remarks referenced in the first post.

I try to stay out of this section entirely - the headline caught my eye in "New posts"...

I think the US gets plenty of goodwill - and a lot of resources including raw materials, electiricity, and oil. As I've said elsewhere, I don't think the majority of Canadians are anti-American either, although I do recognize that those who are are a noisy bunch and that the bulk of the media seems to either endorse or publicize those views far more widely and frequently than pro-US views.

And Anne Murray and Tom Green and several others. And forget it - we don't want most of them back.

I'm not even sure those members are Canadian - in another recent post, someone was blaming Canada for yo-yo and a few others and it turned out that yo-yo isn't Canadian. As for "the dumbass spokesman", there are dumbasses in every nation of the world. I would have been happier if your headline has read "Dumbass spokesman blames America" instead of "Canadians blame America".

I believe prior to you being owned, you were making it personal trying to own someone? Indeed, you even later made it perfectly clear why you were doing so, because of a previous disagreement with Will. Sounds personal to me. I see it's *still* about you. Poor cole is a victim. Take a Midol.

Will, I have seen throughout these recent posts a presumption that we in the United States have led the way when it comes to saving the world from its various ills. We've done our share. Of course, we only have to look at the last hundred years a bit more carefully to see that others have too. Saved Europe? I'm sorry, and as much as I loathe Uncle Joe as I do old 'Dolph, were it not for the rapacious, "commie Soviet soldier" and his ruthless, brilliant General(s), we might have had our ass handed to us in a sling. Just one example how an "America first, American only" myopia may cloud one's worldview of history.

And I was offended by what you wrote, because it casts a pall on the blood of those from other nations who have lost their sons, too, in this recent war. I found it offensive what you initially posted, and continued to post regarding Canadian ("Canucks") and British ("Limeys") soldiers, when I so admire both, particularly when you intimated that they were only a part of the rescue effort to self-aggrandize for the news coverage. It is the worst of imperial arrogance, and the worst, in my view, of what is going wrong with our country now.

I honor and love my land. And I believe that people of all lands deserve the respect they are due. Just my opinion, of course, but you owe, I believe, an apology to some folks.

Oh man... Tom Green was you guys? That cancels out almost all of the goodwill you guys earned with Sarah McLachlan.

I would have been happier posting that -- but that would be a different discussion. The discussion is the appalling nature of the behavior of our neighbors to the North.

Those of us South of the border are seeing a strong trend line from our Northern neighbors and we're not happy with it at all.

The purpose of this thread was to say "Hey, WHAT THE HELL?" and to show Canadians how it feels to have their supposed "allies" treat them this way. My initial post was formulated to match to ire America received from that Canadian spokesman and from the three vocal Canadians in the Politics & Religion forum.

Don't like it? I am not surprised. We Americans don't like it either. But pretending that it isn't happening isn't the cure. We've got to get it out into the open or we will never fix it.

The Americans are endlessly reminded of what the Canadians think of American. Now the Canadians are a bit more aware of the feelings of their neighbor to the South.

What are we all going to do about it?

If you're truly serious about fixing things, Will, you can start by NOT lumping all of us together. (American or Canadian) Each person is an individual and should be dealt with that way.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

Ssshh... ccole... the adults are talking here.

We're just now getting the thread back on topic and the last thing we need is you taking us off topic again.
