    How does suing someone exactly work in america? I've heard some funny cases where someone sued someone for 1 million for just accidentally tripping them over? :p

    I think if you wanted to sue someone in the uk for an simillar incident like this, the judge, the jury would just laugh in your face.

    Unfortunately the american suing craze has now hit us in the UK and we too have become very similar to them.. so I wouldn't laugh just yet!

    Anyone can sue anyone for any reason. If the judge thinks it is crap they can throw it out of court. The problem is that if you are sued you still have to pay money to defend yourself.

    Countersuits still cost money. You have to hire an attorney, miss work, etc.
