Intel is more reliable, AMD is cheaper. They are both the same in terms of performance at the moment, so it depends on what you are looking for. I usually go with Intel chips but I have 2 laptops running on AMD processors with ATI graphics cards currently.
I pretty much say Intel. I guess you could say I'm an Intel fanboy because I don't know any better lol.
I prefer Intel... simply because it has better support and good after-sales network in my country! Regards, RightMan
More people are use intel and i saw advertisment on tv that intel is best company for processor. I also use intel(R) P4 3.00 Ghz.
Intel all the way then my second choice would be AMD and last choice Celeron. If you are game freak then I would also recommend AMD with Nvidia graphic card.
Like I said before, I own AMD CPU, but I still think that Intel is worth the money that you're paying for.
I got a question because it's related to this topic, what do you think which CPU is better for a laptop AMD x2 Dual Core or Intel Core 2 Duo?
More people use Intel simply because: 1) They dont know any better, have very limited or no knowledge of computer components, and take whatever processor happens to be in the computer they "want". 2) The Intel brand is highly advertised on TV and online, whereas AMD is not. All the advertisement yields brand awareness, something that AMD doesn't have to the typical consumer. If you test the two brands for reliability and performance, they are nearly equal. Since AMD is normally a fair bit cheaper than Intel, I choose AMD. Although there are certain times when Intel has a distinct edge, it never seems to last long. Celeron is made by Intel.
Well said! Actually this is the fact like Nokia mobile. My first PC - AMD 8-9 years old, shop owner insisted me, took with great hesitation and fear as it was cheap too and had some financial problem as well, running good so far except SMPS/HDD issues, upgraded RAM/HDD only. Second PC- AMD 4 years old, running well no problem Unfortunately laptop is Intel, because I did not get AMD powered Toshiba product in India. I know several friends who bought Intel at the same time when I got my first PC, all are original Intel motherboards, one of my colleague's PC stopped working in 2 years, Intel exchanged MB then within 18 months that one went to graveyard. Another one, not friend but neighbor, after 3 years, MB died. There are 3-4 more similar instances. All of these PC were intel original MB + CPU. You may be surprise they all bought new PC again and those are Intel too! b'cos they feel safe! Tried by best to make my colleague understand to get AMD, even my company machine too was from AMD, but he never never heard me and Intel inside again
It depends for what purpose you want to use it If it's for gaming then AMD isthe best processor else for normal purposes Intel is the best
Intel is better than AMD. In my experience AMD is better for gaming and designing. AMD processors are cheap also. Intel is good for multimedia, business and all intense computing applications. Intel consumes less power than AMD and generates less heat and noise.
