I noticed that Amazon has started pushing there paypal type service in the last few month. I know that it is new but do you think it will catch up to paypal eventually?
I think you are talking about the amazon checkout with sending and requesting money features. I feel no other payment system can beat paypal easily because it has become the most popular. since majority use paypal others have no other option except creating a paypal to make a transaction.
I think it will fail. If you call the number for Amazon Payments you go to Amazon customer service. If you ask for Amazon Payments they don't even know what it is and will keep transferring you to Chase Bank, their Amazon Credit Card partner. Classic case of trying to break into a market without doing the proper preparation.
