That's interesting. It seems there are more and more of these cropping up(MSN, YPN, now Amazon)

The big question is, will it drive adsense payouts up?

That would be great if they opened it to Europe...Yahoo doesn't seem to want that by now! :/

No, this is a new program. Amazon is getting third party advertisers, just like AdWords. Right now it's invitation only.

This thread got moved into the "affiliates" section, but I just wanted to be clear that this is NOT an affiliate program they are starting. It's a full fledged ad network like AdSense, YPN, or MSN AdCenter.

I'd be willing to try them out. You never know which program will work best on any site. I am continually adjusting between AdSense and YPN to see which is working best on my site. I'd be happy to throw Amazon in to the mix to see if it can do better.

    Competition is good.

Amazon has more options than just going after banned sites. There is still a lot of room for sites that are outside of Google and Yahoo's terms of service. For instance, neither Google nor Yahoo allow their contextual ads to appear on sites that promote beer (though wine is okay). My friend runs Beer Haiku Daily and can't place ads from G or Y on his site. He is already using Amazon for associate links, so it would be great if he could get some pay per click action from them as well.
