Wow... amazon announced a 20% commission on MP3 purchases through end of year. pretty strong. $0.89 results in $.20 per song. $2 per album... Not bad.. .might have to relook @ amazon on this.
yes, yes, yes...i hear it left and right. But what they want for an MP3, 99 cents....i have my doubts if this sells well. Not sure tho.
I'm looking forward to giving it a try. I'm ticked off with iTunes (both for their commissions and for their DRM issues), and the whole DRM free thing at Amazon is a great selling point. In case you didn't hear, there are no restrictions on what people can do with Amazon tracks. No copyright issues to trouble you when you move tracks between computers or different MP3 players.
There's a hurry up on this offer though, it only on through December 31, 2007. Beginning January 1, 2008 the referral fees will be 10%.
its much better than itunes is 5%, but still most people look as itunes as the authority when downloading music.
I'm going to try this too.. just a banner link so far on my site. check it out. joelikesit.blogspot.com
with 80 million search results for Mp3 will be hard market to get into...unless you have tons of traffic going thru your own site
yup, competition is really hard in this area. anyway, what's your strategy in selling these mp3? i can only think make a song lyric site, and then link it with the mp3. but that means i have to do it manually, which will take a long time. any other idea?
Aside from the fact that 99% of song lyric sites are illegally posting lyrics (and some are getting sued for copyright infringment), I can think of a more legal way to use the Amazon MP3's.... Write reviews of your favorite songs/albums, keyword target them carefully, then link to the Amazon mp3 page directly from your reviews.
That's kinda what my site is about, and the sales rate has been very low thru iTunes. Wonder if Amazon would be better?
