Hello all! I own this website : which is using AOM since about a year .. Lately it has been using lots of traffic coz of search engines bots .. But till now i have no sales at all from amazon , so iam looking for any suggestions from you. Should i turn it into a book-review blog ? or what should i do in order to start earning from amazon affiliates ? TIA!
To allow people to better answer your questions, I'd suggest you include info about the amount of traffic the site currently receives and the methods you have used in the past to promote the site. Also, what experimentation have you done with the site layout to improve sales? From your post it's hard to tell if the low sales problem is with the advertiser, the site layout, or simply that the site doesn't get enough traffic.
It doesn't matter if you use aom or another store for your site, there are a few major things that will help you to have a measure of success, simply having a site won't do it. 1. Brand your store. By looking at it, you can see that outside of a few featured products on the home page, the store is almost identical to every other aom store. Its important that the website owners work with a designer, to make their store look beautiful, attractive and to also stand out from the rest. The platform is one thing, making it look good and adding value is another. 2. Market your store. You didn't say this was a problem, but its important to market your website after you have finished establishing your brand. Its hard to make sales if you don't have enough visitors to your site. Keep in mind that search engine marketing is just one channel. You can drive traffic for many different methods, including link exchanges, blogs, social networks, newsletters, ppc and more. So don't spend all of your efforts in just one method. 3. You don't have a simple about us page, support page, customer service page, shipping page, account area, or anything else that people really want to see present when they are going to shop. You can't just offer items and that's it. You can get away with that at a flea market or bazaar, but you won't get away with that doing online retail. So it looks like you should start with the basics and then address the other issues. Take a look at some of these Amazon Associate Video Tutorials, it covers a lot of good material.
