Amazon Search Engine Help

Does anyone have any tips or advice as to how to get my products higher in the results when people are doing a search on Amazon for products? I sell Ethernet Cables on Amazon (I am an Amazon Merchant) and have high quality cables and the lowest prices by far. I believe that I have used the best search terms (borrowed the top producing ones from my Google and MSN AdWords campaigns) and have added many other Amazon Search Suggestions (basically, a way to add keywords), but my products never make it into the Top 10 results. I suspect that Amazon uses a formula based upon relevancy and popularity (i.e., historical sales which makes it tough for a new guy to get attention) for an item but I am wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks to break through with these guys?

My partner sells all sorts of stuff but never manages to sell much through amazon. Everything we tried, much like your attempts have failed. Often even getting lower in results.

I have scratched my head about this for the past year.

I will tell you what drives me especially crazy is that when you try to add search suggestions (their form of keyword submissions for your products) they obviously have several empty-headed people reviewing them. For example, I submitted 'rj45' as a search for my Ethernet cables and it was denied for some of my cables and allowed for some of them. Same exact cable, except a different length. Crazy.

Like I mentioned. The harder we tried the more frustrated and lower down we got in the results, listings etc.

"rj45" is nearly unique, or there abouts. How can a system not produce this unique result based on a simple search? Crazy.

I am going to keep trying different approaches and will let you know if I have any luck. Please do the same. Seems like we are the only two people interested in this on DP. Thanks.
