Amazon profitable for low traffic websites?

Is amazon profitable for a low traffic website (150-300 uniques per day)?

    Currently about technology and sciences.

Nothing is profitable if you don't have the traffic.

I run Amazon affiliate shops only where 200 page-views (not uniques) per day is enough to generate a sale or two.

Since you are already paying for the domain and server, the only investment needed to be an Amazon affiliate is time and I'm sure you have some.

Just a thought or two about what to integrate into your site:

    1. Banners, I don't think it works anymore.

    2. Amazon products (recommnedation) integrated into your site content might be the first step.

    3. Product search pages using freely available Amazon search scripts (Jaap's?) might be the next addendum.

    4. How about a complete Amazon store with free scripts like MrRats or Freekrais?

None of the above will take more than a couple of hours to set up and probably takes a couple of weeks more to see wheter it will bear results.

Think it'll be worth the investment?

Out of those four options there, this one has always given me the best results, BIG time. Now, geting around the duplicate content filter is a different story!!

The more store sites the better! I got about 30 stores using MrRats script, and I'm making six more sites now to try out the Amazon Store Manager script. As for earnings....

    Q2 2003: $1,321.97

Then I make a mod_rewrite version of MrRats script....

    Q3 2003: $5,571.19
    Q4 2003: $7,501.23

Then the competition came along from my IQ being so low that I gave the script away....

    Q2 2004: $851.78

causing the duplicate content filter to also be created.

And so far this quarter I've made $504.37 with almost half of that from three of this item being sold. High priced stuff is helping BIG time. Around $360.00 comes from just eight items. Big tip: Promote stuff that costs a lot!!

I get only around 200 pageviews a day.

    All time stats....

    Clicks: 3,217,244
    Items Ordered: 26,703
    Items Shipped: 24,034
    Shipped Items Revenue: $563,765.73
    Referral Fees: $33,394.63

I'm glad I ran across this thread. I am currently building a site for book reviews where I will be using the Amazon hooks to display books, prices, etc - the duplicate content filter issue Nintendo mentions is exactly why I think having original content surrounding the sale item will be key. Hoping, anyway.
