    Hello All,
Just venting here! I am so sick of Pay per click on adwords that i could puke.....time after time you here about gurus saying targeted traffic make sales..blah blah blah.......I direct linked to amazon over the last two days on these very specific keywords [buy nintendo wii] [buy nintendo wii online]..etc etc...all exact all with buy in keyword and all U.S. traffic only...my ad had a CTR of 22.7% I direct linked to the amazon nintendo wii page.....i had amazon in my displayr url....my ad was very straight foward Buy Nintendo Wii.....trusted source...always in stock.....do you want to know the sales after 126 adwords clicks and 180 link clicks.....which by the way tells me that some people even came back to my ad.....I made 1 Sale! I'm converting 1 in 126!!! B.S. Someone or Something is hacking sales these days...I guarantee it! By the way I've had other succesful PPc campaigns that have turned belly up lately too.......Something is going on!! thanks, carnano

One of the most important things people keeps on forgetting when they promote PPC with adwords with PPC is they never check products availability regularly. You said that the product was in stock, but did you notice from where the stock is available? When did the last time you check Wii product page on Amazon?

No Wii stock is available on Amazon, the only stocks available are from 3rd party seller which will result people won't see the "Add to cart" buttons on the right side. Customers you drive on Wii product details will have to click on other links to see a list of available stocks from 3rd party sellers.

Btw, Wii didn't convert well for me. Try other more expensive products.

How much did you spend on that ppc campaign. I think the commission on a Nintendo Wii is like $19- $25, so if you spent less then that amount on ppc, you're ahead of the curve.

    thanks,

That sounds like a good commission, but conversions seem tougher than people are willing to admit.

I don't have any direct experience in using PPC to sell stuff through Amazon. I was extremely active at the Amazon affiliates forum for several years though and heard hundreds of comments from people who tried earning money that way.

By far, those posts indicated that it didn't work. The number of (paid for) clickthrus required to make one sale at Amazon, even with expert targeting, apparently ate up the income. Generally, when someone would leave a post like, "I earned $5000 last month using PPC", the poster would eventually admit that they spent $4900 on PPC clicks. Or even worse, they spent $6200!

I'm not saying that I think it's impossible; in fact, I bet it's been done. I'm just saying that from testimonials I've heard, it's not an easy task to accomplish.

I did alright with adwords and wii's right when they came out and people were willing to pay twice to three times retail. 1 commission then paid for a lot of clicks. I have found in my area the wii supply is catching up and there are a lot less buyers. I only find big hyped releases are the time to play(you know when you see pre-sales on ebay). Take a look at ebay completed and see how many actually sold vs non sales and how much above retail. I use that for a good indicator of general demand for all internet traffic before deciding on running ppc for video games/systems.

Hey CARNANO, Have you put the price in title? it can screen only who want to buy in this price. don't oversale because you will get click but no sale.
