Amazon order instant notification api ... only for seller account?

Hi all, thank you in advance for any help.

I am trying to find a way that I can get amazon to let me get notifications about items I have purchased. My client is a book store owner and buys books online from amazon for clients. He needs to know when an order he has bought has been shipped/canceled/eat by large animal ..etc...

Does the instant notification api only work with a seller account for selling on amazon?

Is there anything or any way to be able to track orders purchased?

    Thanks,

    A,

That is not available via the amazon api because it is against amazon's rules.

from section 4 of the Operating Agreement
    4. Referral Fees
You will find once their system catches up, they will remove all his earnings :( although usually orders using your own links just don't show up in the reports at all, and if there are many such orders the account is closed.

Hi and thanks for the reply.

Maybe I didnt explain well enough or maybe I am posting in the wrong forum, but I/we have no intention on going against amazon rules and trying to double dip on commissions etc .. He simply has an ebay buyers account and buys books online (without earning a commission) and then resells them in his store. So what I am trying to do is have the order status from each of the items he has bought through his buyers account, update in his website back end so he can keep track of everything from one place. This really has nothing to do with their affiliate program.

I hope that helps clear it up.

    Thanks again.

    A
