Today, I just made a purchase on Amazon.com

I realized, there is a little change below my bill "tax"

I never seen that one before from amazon

so I tried to buy other stuffs

    it all have "tax"

so now we have to pay tax on amazon products

    that suck a big time

So the governement needs money, they all turn on us to force us to pay tax on amazon

    this is not right

You didn't say where you are from. If you are living in the US and buying from Amazon.com then I should think you would have paid tax all along!!

If you are living outside the US and still paying some kind of sales tax then I guess it can seem a little unfair, but it's probably not the full rate when it's an export, and anyway it's tough luck, governments can charge whatever tax they like!

P.S. Check out this link - http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=468512 - it's not that simple, it depends where YOU are, where the merchant is (if it's not Amazon) and a whole bunch of other things.

    not really

before I bought products from amazon

    i never paid tax

maybe their some new law in NY

o well it's ok.. i guess i from now on

it's no different buying stuff from amazon than buying stuff from the retail store

    it's same price now

amazon really lost a lot o fmoney because of tax charge

Aha, you're from NY - yes, there is a tax for NY, it says on that page I mentioned.

You could be right, if companies decide that demand is great enough for online purchasing then they may have no need to charge less than in bricks-and-mortar shops.

    Tax isn't Amazon's fault though...

That depends on your shipping address.

I just bought from amazon.com and before I got to the final payment, there was a note saying that if you live in NY they now take tax, I don't.

Tough luck - you know what they say about the only two certainties in life: death and taxes.

Though it's darned complicated in the US - surely it's high time they introduced a value added tax nationwide like most of Europe. Then everyone pays the same rate and it's easy to claim back, less fuss.
