I hate those Amazon affiliate links that lead users to a landing page instead of the actual product page. I read in a blog (can't remember which) that you can link directly to the product page by changing, for example, this... http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson...sr_1_1/002-1780127-8344804?ie=UTF8&s=wireless to this: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-W810i-Phone-Cingular/dp/B000J2FOF0/sampleaffiliate-21 where sampleaffiliate-21 is the affiliate ID (not my ID ). The blogger said to put the affiliate ID right after the first string of letters and numbers in the actual link. Is this correct? Would a link like that actually register with Amazon and credit me for the sale? Thanks, Chris
I got this link directly from an Amazon rep a while back. It is supposed to be the shortest URL that takes a user directly to a product page. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/{asin}/ref=nosim/{myid} The "ref=nosim" part is what assures that the user is sent directly to the product page. It seems to be working fine for me. You just need to plug in the ASIN {asin} and your tracking ID {myid}.
