hey, ive only just started using amazon. how do we get the aff link to link to when using ppc? do we just create the html and copy out the link from the html that is generated? thanks
druzilla, Amazon does not pay on a PPC basis, only on a rev-share, also known as cost-per-action (CPA) basis. You get the HTML link from the Build Links section of the Amazon Associates Central web site: http://amazon.com/associates Once you have the link, place it on your web site in the spot that is most likely to be noticed by your visitors. Once someone clicks on your link(s) and then purchases an Amazon product, you will receive a share of the revenue Amazon receives from the sale. Gene i think you misunderstood him. If i understand correctly, you want to know how you are supposed to create an outbound link for use in a PPC engine such as adwords or ypn?
Thanks for clarification Kunk. To use Amazon Associates links in an outside PPC engine, such as AdWords or AdSense, simply build a static text link using a mechanism that I outlined in my post: "Details about Amazon Text Links" --> http://blog.affiliatebrand.com/2006/10/details_about_a_1.html <-- You may then build your own text creative and bid on any keywords you would find as appropriate or do any other form of targeting you wish. If you would like to run a number of various campaigns, it is important for you to learn which is performing well and which is not performing well. To do this, you will need to request up to 1,500 tracking id's per associate account by emailing to Amazon at: associates@amazon.com You will then be able to track how well each of your campaigns performs and either increase or decrease your spend based on results.
