If you have website, try to tracking what keyword that surfer use. Then provide them with your affiliate product. It is a little trick, Many people already knew
Personally I think you can learn a lot by studying Amazon's product pages to see what's selling. Each category has a bestsellers page. Choosing one of them and then researching long tail keywords can put you on to good sellers. Also in the detail about the product Amazon tells you that product's ranking in that category as regards sales. Along with that of course are the associated products (customers who bought this also bought these) and you have the groundwork for a mini site with a page for each related product.
these are good tips. usually looking for anything in the price range you mentioned $20 - $200 is a good idea. many times i make sales from items that i don't even advertise just because amazon is so huge.
You're absolutely right about the "seasonal offers" chain retailers got. They have to take care of their inventory (you want to have all items in stock, but not too many units over what you sells - keeping stock in inventory costs way too much!!). Just think if Wal-Mart bought 1,000,000 boxes of "x" item and sells only 100,000 boxes, what will they do with the rest? Answer: lose money (either by keeping them in stock or selling them at discount prices)!! So these chain retailers allowed a lot of budget in stock management and customers buying trends, the kind of budget we will never have! So yep, you can learn a lot in circulars! Really great advice! Thanks!
Good tips. I am doing it similar way. I place relevant amazon link to every news posts mostly about movies and TV shows. What about Amazon PPC policy??? They will not pay commission while you use PPC advertising to promote Amazon products ( USA related).
this is an excellent idea, but i think too many people will be trying this now. maybe i will try sell gifts at special holidays
