I don't have an Amzon affiliate site, just some ads around my site to complement some of my products, plus one page that has about a dozen related amazon products. It seems that most of the time, the product ad is replaced by an ugly orange "shop now and save" ad. I noticed on my logs that people are clicking the page and backing straight out and I see why! It looks awful! Is there anyway around this - that is, to get the products showing instead of that big orange generic thing??
Same happens to me, I think its placed randomly by amazon. I would like to fully control my pages as well
no way round it, huh? When if first looked this morning, out of the 12 ads, 9 were replaced. I wouldn't mind one or 2, but 75% is a bit much.
Could it be something where they put that image up when there is no image available for the given product?
I vaguely recall a comment somewhere it has something to do with the load on the Amazon server - refreshing the page sometimes help. Its still not good enough from Amazon. Ask about it in the internal Amazon affiliate forum.
I did go over to the Amazon forum last night, saw a couple of questions asking the same thing, one did suggest the load on Amazon server as being the problem. I assume big amazon affiliate websites don't have the same problem, none that I have seen anyway so I guess they have different scripts than the iframes. I might get rid of the whole amazon page if it's uncontrollable
Yeah we've been getting hammered with orange boxes recently. Very bad when the whole page is a review of a product and instead of the product you're featuring a big orange box. Any other good book affiliate programs out there?
