I just saw the notification that this section has been subtly changed. Why can't all those American's take part in an American company's affiliate program?
I assume it's about the issues they have had with taxes in the last couple years... http://www.cnet.com/news/amazon-cuts-affiliate-ties-in-more-states-over-taxes/ I think it's about certain states saying Amazon has a "presence" in those states if they have affiliates there, therefore they have to collect sales tax from users in those states. So Amazon just opted to kill affiliate program in the states that tried to pass such dumb legislation.
Yes, all BS and POLITICS CT ( Connecticut ) - They used to be banned and NOW they can do business, So basically, they are blackmailing states or Vs versa LOL
I understand that they have issues with the taxes, then why not they share it with affiliates the amount of taxes rather abolishing the whole program. It's not fair to be like that. All big companies try to give nothing even they worth more. Why for some amount of tax they are not letting people earn some money, where is the employment from amazon?
Welcome to affiliate nexus. Slowly, Amazon has been re-adding states back to the affiliate program, as the states and Amazon work out their tax disagreements.
