Newbie to affiliate marketing, live in Colorado & the state just rushed thru a law requiring online marketers to pay state sales tax. Amazon (& others) will have to calculate and pay this tax. Amazon says it is unconstitutional and won't do it, so is dropping associates living here. Colorado says Amazon is trying to blackmail the state into repealing the law & are rufusing, so far. What does this mean for those of us living here, and will other companies follow Amazons lead? Anyone venture a guess? This could end up in court for years. Short of moving to another state, anyone have any thoughts or ideas?
