In my niche Amazon has suddenly become an all-powerful SERPs monster. Whatever terms I type in, they come 1st and with no back links. Now, I'm running a 5 year old site with PR6, thousands of strong quality links and even then, I'm having a hard time getting Amazon off the top spot -not without having to spend around £1,000 per search term. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a quicker and more cost effective way to get them off the top spot?
Amazon is the WIKI type of website... IT enjoys high Trust rank from Google and other search engines.
Are you refering to organic ranking or adwords ? Otherwise , perhaps your links are not doing for you what Amazons reputation is doing for it
Start a wikipedia.org page with your keywords and then link build to the wiki page, which will link to you.
