I was going to reply to this thread and say that I don't earn anything from amazon.com with my sites, when I realized it was MY thread... getting brought back from the graveyard.
I put an amazon store on to an existing website a few weeks ago and have made 28 sales so far in around 2 weeks, I don't have my conversion rate to hand on this computer but it seems to be doing ok. I sold one of those $1200 rid on mowers from a direct link which I "think" gives an extra 2.5% commission on top of the 5.25 which I will achieve in June for the Quarter end. I must have sold around $3k of goods in two weeks but a lot of it ain't shipped yet. Edit: Conversion rate of 0.71%
My Quarter-to-Date looks like this: Ordered items 32 Clicks 663 Conversion 4.83% Amazon referral sales have been picking up steam for me lately. Nice to see. I do like writing those book reviews . . ..
My quarter-to-date numbers: Ordered items 535 Clicks 43068 Conversion 1.24% the conversion rate is in line with my previous quarters, but clicks are steadily climbing quarterly.
Caroline, I'm not sure about that one. I have an affiliate program at one of my sites, and I'm still working on getting click throughs. thanks, stephen

My conversion rate with Amazon is lousy. I wonder how many of my sales (on Amazon and elsewhere) gets stolen by scumware operators. They're known for targetting Amazon heavily, and AFAIK, Amazon isn't doing anything to stop it.
I have been getting about 4.5%-5% conversion for the last 5 quarters. Stealing sales- I believe they are reffering to the scumware that lives on a visitor's computer and places their own hotlinks over your website's content (mainly throughout text blocks), thus stealing visitors purchases from your site. I have seen this once on my father-in-law's computer...I went to my websites from their house and noticed a ton of links all over my pages...I scanned his computer removed a bunch of scumware/adware/spyware and all those links were gone. I really doubt I'll ever get anything from amazon associates I'm letting users choose which amazon they want listed, the products are always related wit the page contents, still...nothing will happen...as usual. Even if something happens you only get pennies...as usual. Traffic is never high enough to make the probability game...as usual.
