Amazon competes with PayPal now.

Amazon apparently decided to compete against PayPal now that Amazon just recently launched a payment processing for anyone who to use Amazon instead PayPal. Anyone can pay via Amazon from anywhere like PayPal, it does what PayPal do except donation button which is the main feature I use so unless Amazon launch a donation button and sort I am staying with PayPal and probably will even if Amazon ever launch these features for their payment processing because I have been with PayPal forever.

But nonetheless it is interesting that a company especially Amazon who is a very larger than Ebay now has launched payment processing their own, which it does make sense in someway because Amazon is a factory while at same time anyone can sell products there as long as they have proper things to do so (more restrictions in Amazon than Ebay I meant).

The Amazon payment processing is called Amazon Payment, you can get to it here: payments.amazon.com

If you already have account at Amazon then you can go ahead and sign right into Amazon Payment although you will be asked for some verification as same way PayPal did when signing up, such as adding banking account, tax ID and others.

I am beginning to dislike Amazon as much as I dislike Google. It bothers me when these large companies start trying to take over every aspect of the internet. Google tried (and failed) to dominate everything from online payments to social networking and everything in between and Amazon has joined the party.

Amazon is one of the most overrated companies ever. I recently convinced my mother to buy something from Amazon that she could not find in stores. I told her it would take 3 - 5 days to arrive. It took 10 days to arrive (one of those days was a holiday). Why so long? Because if you are willing to pay extra, Amazon will ship it out of their warehouse that same day. If you go with the free standard shipping, Amazon will let your product sit in its warehouse for 2 days before they package it for shipment. Amazon intentionally delays shipment to squeeze extra money out of its customers.

While I do agree that Amazon is overrated but I like Amazon, it is the only website I order things if I cannot find it anywhere as I only use Amazon for my online shopping and would always have the packages arrive on time as their shipping estimate although I can see some problem with shipping and Fedex is the who to be blamed as Fedex never brings my things on time as estimated.

Beside not only that, better than Ebay especially the security when shopping. ;)

Any idea if Amazon Payments is available outside the US? In India, for instance?

    Thx,

I hope this don't end like google checkout. Paypal do need some competition to get their shit together.
