Amazon.ca direct depost - HELP!

    I would really, really appreciate any help or advice with a payment problem I'm having.

    I live in the UK but sell via amazon.ca. When amazon.ca increased the payment-by-cheque threshold to $100 last summer, I switched to payment by direct deposit into my Royal Bank of Canada savings account, which is based in Calgary. Since then, I haven't received a cent from amazon.ca. Each time they attempt payment they inform me it has failed and to check my bank details are correct. I have exchanged many emails with RBC who have been really helpful but each time we try to give amazon the correct details, payment fails again. Communication with amazon.ca has been very difficult - at one point, they even said my customer ID indicated I wasn't registered with them and that I should try amazon.com instead (I've been with amazon.ca for five years).

    RBC are as confused as I am, partly because the details that amazon.ca ask for on their form don't relate to the way Canadian bank details should be expressed. RBC suspects that amazon.ca may be asking for details in the American fashion, perhaps because their banking is based in the US. We have tried at least half a dozen different permutations of my bank code and transit/routing codes but never have any success, and I can't find a way to escalate the problem with amazon.ca - each time I write to them, I get someone different who starts all over again at square one. I am at my wits' end.

    Has anyone suffered a similar problem? More importantly, is there a solution? Or is there a way to get through to someone at amazon who can offer some meaningful support?

    I can't say if it's Amazon or your Bank having issues, but rather then be at your wits' end, I'd say keep on selling and break that $100 mark that is preventing you from being paid by check like you wanted in the first place : )

    Case numbers also help when you are working with large companies because it saves you the hassle of having to explain the situation to new representatives (should they change).
