Wel I'm not entirely sure why I've gone and done this but I spent part of the day enabling full control over an Amazon aStore. No nasty iFrames that the search engines dont like plus the ability to shove in some adsense. http://software.artivity.co.uk There is currently one slight bug with the search feature which I may or may not go back to resolve. This was purely a test for my own behalf but if others would find it useful then I may look at it further. Cheers, Jason
I am interested in how you have done this - have you scraped the aStore pages using asp? If that is what you have done then its a good hack, and you could take it further and optimise those urls for search engines. You are aware that there is a full API interface to Amazon? Oh, I did get an access denied message when I went to check out.
Hello mate... yep fully aware of the API. I was just curious as to whether I could do it or not. It is basically a long winded include with far more code than would be needed for ASP.NET or PHP. Will look into the URL optimisation. Will probably have to use a server component for IIS similar to Apache's mod_rewrite IF its possible. Access denied is a bit worrying, I dont get it here. Was it just a plain white page with "Access Denied" in the top left corner? Jase
