    Hi guyz,

rsContext seems to provide contexual amazon ads which can be put as Adsense alternate ads.

    It's free.

Did not try it myself, but seems like a nice idea. I have LOTS of ad spaces wasted due to PSAs.

    BUT:

Gotta be careful with one of their claims:
"rsContext’s ads can be displayed as the "alternate ad" for Google’s AdSense (and tailored to appear similar to AdSense ads)".

This is a TOS violation 'cause you can easily have a normal AdSense ad AND an alternative ad at the same time if you have more than one ad block on a page. In this case you'll be showing a text ad, similar to Adsense, on the same page, which is a no-no according to the TOS.

Amazon’s Web Services (AWS) lets you pull the book's cover as a small icon, and that's what I would use for the link and would actually try to make is appear as DIFFERENT from AdSense as possible. (unless, of course, you earn more on Amazon than on AdSense, which I personally doubt very much:) )

Yes, agreed. Does look like a nice idea....funny how I was just thinking about that the other day...how I could put some amazon links as a alternate ad, since you only get "a url" to put in there, this might be a good idea.

Before you choose an alternate ad by a 3rd party, test it out first with the googlebot as the referrer and make sure they aren't doing a switcheroo on you when gbot comes. ;)

I have Amazon ads on one of my sites and have yet to even get a penny from them. How does one make money from displaying their ads?

well I am also using the Amazon ads and I only have $8 earned from a RAZR V3 phones sold.

Well, it's fine to be used with the Adsense. But about the contextual Amazon ads, I don't know if there is one that exist, for as long as I know, Amazon doesn't offer contextual ads.

All you need do is set up some pages on your site to display alternate ads.

Make a table at exactly the same size as the Google ad on a new, blank page and place whatever ad code it is you want displayed within the table. Modify the Adsense code to include an alternate ad and then adjust the location to point to your newly modified new page.

I have been with Amazon since the end of May 2005, and this year I have earned currently $34+ in comissions, just from book sales. I am pleased with them so far, I just do it anyway to earn amazon gift certificates which I am letting build, then I plan on getting some books for my daughter for Christmas when the money.

I find for every 100 clicks on my amazon ads, I usualy generate 1 sale of a book.

I guess it depends on the content of your site and the value of the books, but wouldn't you earn more from 100 adsense clicks then you would from one book sale?

I have had adsense and amazon ads on the same pages since I started adsense. Google had no problem with them both on the same pages.

My amazon ads are all the ones that show an image of each item I am selling, and look nothing like the adsense text ads........

Interesting, I should look into that. That way it gives people visiting a little more variety in the ads they are seeing...

That is what I am switching to show. I am going to link to specific items from amazon. I hope that will generate some income for me.

We need more malls like amazon with features like:

    1. variety of good quality fast-selling products
    2. good commission structure (2-tier would be better)
    3. weekly/monthly pay-out with no minimum amount level
    4. allow affiliates from all over the world
    5. have plug-in shop facility or shop API
    6. genuine and reliable
    7. real-time online affiliate stats
    8. can display contextual products
    9. can be placed as alternate adsense ads

    ...

You can add your wishes here... :D

I searched a lot, but didn't find one to suit the needs...can you recommend any?

as I said in anther thread: I think a service like this is against amazons' terms of service (I thought about implementing a service like that myself...)
