Have you ever sold anything via squidoo lenses? With so many html boxes, you could create a lens and have upwards of 24 - 30 link embeds and it can be totally legal! Anyone had luck with these? I've been experimenting, so far only 3 lenses made though.
Yes I did sell a few things and it is just about the popularity of the Squidoo lens. If it is ranked highly (by Squidoo) and people like it you will make some good sales. The people that seem to do well spend a *lot* of time networking on Squidoo, improving the lens, writing loads of information... in my eyes it looks like you have to really work hard to get some results and I think you are better putting that work into your own site. Because ultimately your Lens' are owned by Squidoo. That being said they do provide a lot of cool tools and monetisation options to make it easy to create a lens.
I agree, you should create your site rather on squidoo because in the end Squidoo benefits with all the hard work you do. It's a good place to write articles about your site or products your selling but to much work into I think it's a waste of time. I made a lenses with squidoo and I guess my contents wasn't that great but I made 3 cents, lol.
Well, I figure if I do a ton of posts like this, something is bound to hit: http://www.squidoo.com/best-skateboard-decks-for-2012
I had over 100 lenses and some got decent traffic and only sold like $3 worth of items. From what I've seen only lenses that are like a year old and older make any money. Best seller lists like that do seem to work if they're timed right.
I've sold dozens of items.. but the earning reports take so long to get. Ive been with them three months and still have not seen my first payment. I heard they pay good a few month in and you see repeated earnings for years to come since they rank so well with Google. I built over a 100 lenses one month to test it out. Im still awaiting my first payday to see if it was worth it & if i should continue. Until I see some insane earnings Ive decided I am better off creating my own website where I control the content. I found I can get almost all the same widgets onto my website. Squidoo will lock your lenses without asking if they choose. After some research online I read about 25% of lenses get locked or "deactivated". Still a pretty awesome site to dink around with for anyone, especially if someones trying to get their foot in the door for affiliate marketing. They make it so fun to build pages and even award you badges. They allow you to use direct links to your amazon products if you take the time to do so. -Al
I used this business a couple of years back and found there site fine for building lens pages, but find that blogs like Blogger and Wordpress rank even higher than Squidoo for the equivalent information. Still a good tool to use for SEO and affiliation work.
I sold few items from my 20 lenses. Actually it,s depend on traffic I think and also your skill of creating a lens. Write a lens on the way that your visitors will be eager to buy a product from your lens. Write a SEO enabled lens that will help you bring traffic. I apply a technique to bring visitors in my lens. I create micro-blogs in free blogging platform like Blogger and WordPress , etc. for my every lens. Then I write some product review and link back to my lenses. I work for me.
One of my lenses just made it into the top tier. This is the first time I've achieved this. I will be excited to see the earnings. I know you get something like $50 just for being in the tier each month your in it. Anyone got any additional info? Thanks.
I'm building my first lenses but promoting them in the same fashion as I do my Adsense sites (article marketing, social links etc). I'm also conducting keyword research before building any lenses and only building lenses around keywords that have between 400 and 1000 monthly searches on a low competition 1st page. Are the people making money on here with Squidoo running a similar process?
I have just one lens on Squidoo and of course uploaded Amazon ads on it. As someone said above you need to spend a lot of time to promote your Squidoo page. It is something like Internet marketing when you market your Squidoo page!
So far not a dime. I've all but abandoned affiliate marketing and have been doing "real" work thanks to craigslist gig ads, and odesk. I just can't afford to make $0 month after month. Even payments of $11 - $14 a month on AA is stupid. I've thrown in the towel, for legit work. Good luck though.
I am also trying to build my first lens at Squidoo, but till now I am not successful. I am still building it. I feel it is difficult to get approved by Squidoo in the first instance.
@LemonTide: Congrats on the success you've seen with that lens. Unfortunately that's not the top tier in the screenshot you posted - top tier is lensrank 1-2000, then the 2nd tier is 2001-10,000, 3rd tier is 10,001-80,000 (or 85K, not sure). You're right about the tier payout though, if you're lucky enough to keep a lens in the top 2000 for a whole month (although with over a million lenses, this is very difficult) the payout is about $45. Also, you have to have a lens published for a full month before you can receive any tier payouts, so the payout only starts the following month. I'm curious though, how's it coming along now? I imagine the topic for that lens is been sizzling hot still... This is currently my best ranked lens at the moment: Top 10 Best iPhone 5 Cases - been hovering JUST outside tier 1, but now that the buzz around iPhone 5 is dying down it's not looking so good :|
Your iPhone Case article is awesome. Great job on that! Yeah I sadly see now the top tier is those lenses ranked 1k-2k. Shucks! Right now my lens is hot but cant seem to break under 6000 ranking. On another note, I saw my first payout from Squidoo last month and that was about $9.19. It looks like my activity and sales have heated up sense then. But Im not relying on my lenses. Any earnings will be a sweet surprise. My first month using Amazon Affiliates I made about $79 on Youtube in 3 days.. then had my videos removed. I am tinkering with this, trying to figure out a method to get by on Youtube without having videos removed, yet effective.
Yah, I have sold few items and earned few bucks. Not much though. I am on it and still trying to make a better way.
I have made a ton of money on Squidoo and Amazon-- one lens has earned me over $200 since I made it 11 months ago, and it just made Tier 1 in August or so, so I get a minimum of $50 a month without having to do anything to it. Amazon sales this month were the best ever-- not much by Big Leagues standards ($120) but considering that the most I literally made when I first joined Squidoo was $0.20 or something, I ain't complaining! For those getting discouraged, the best way to make money is to "get into the groove" of how it all works. Don't just sign up, slap up a few lens and do nothing. Read the forums until your eyes bleed, do the quests and read the stuff from HQ, read all the tops and tricks from top lensmasters (like GreekGeek) and in about 6 months, the magic will start to happen. Squidoo is not a Get Rich Quick scheme. It's literally one of those things where you get what you put into it. If you log in occasionally, post a few lens once in a while, you won't get anything. If you really get a "feel" for the site, work hard, research, and write well, you'll do great.
